If you are on holiday in Marrakech and you want to trek in the Atlas, but you don’t have enough time to join a multi-day adventure in the mountains, this guided trekking in the Zat Valley will be the perfect choice for you.
The Zat valley or the secret valley is a real heaven for hikers and trekkers, a beautiful and well-preserved valley hidden behind the small village of Tighedouine, at few minutes’ drive from Marrakech.
After an early pick up from your hotel in Marrakech, you will be driven directly to the village of Tighedouine, very known by its famous weekly Berber souk of Wednesday.
Tighedouine will be the starting point of our Atlas Trek, we will leave our driver, and we will join a local mountain guide…
From the first steps of your trekking tour, you will be impressed by the authenticity and the charm of this little corner of paradise, this is the real authentic Morocco.
You will start your trek through a small attractive village, then you will walk over some wheat fields and olive orchards before arriving to Talatast or the pottery village.
You will be invited to a local Berber house in the village of Talatast in order to have a Berber brunch with mint tea, olives and Tafarnout (Traditional Berber bread) … A great chance to meet and exchange culture with the local population in a very lovely and warm atmosphere.
We will continue walking till we reach the seven natural water of ‘Sidi el Wafi’, we will visit the local small market than we will eat a good Tajine in a local Berber Restaurant.
After lunch we will go back to the village of Tighedouine where we will meet our driver to return to Marrakech.
