Travel across outstanding landscapes, authentic desert villages and meet the friendly local population in order to experience the authentic desert lifestyle like a real nomad.
Day 1 : Agadir – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
We will start our desert adventure with a full day-trip from Agadir to Ouarzazate with several interesting stops on the road, mainly to visit the old Medina of Taroudante, the small village of Taliouine or the capital of Safran, then Taznakht where the famous handmade Berber carpets are produced in the local cooperatives.
After lunch, we will keep driving to Ait Ben Haddou to visit this very old castle where many of Hollywood movies have been filmed like the Mummy, Gladiator and the famous Prince of Persia: ‘The Sands of Time’.
We will visit this UNESCO world heritage site with a local tour guide, then we will continue our tour to Ouarzazate where we will have dinner and spend our first night.
Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Tinghir
On the second day, we will continue our desert tour over the wonderful valley of roses and Kelaa M’Gouna, very known by its traditional festival of flowers.
We will keep exploring other beautiful places around Boulmane Dades, especially the splendid gorges of Dades and gorges of Todra, before getting to the charming little village of Tinghir where we will spend the night in a traditional guest house.
Day 3 : Tinghir – Tazzarine – Zagora
Early breakfast in the hostel and departure to Zagora through the impressive valley of Draa. We will stop for lunch in Tazzarine village then we will continue to the extremely lovely Zagora where we will have many stops for photos in the middle of the palm groves and wild desert landscapes.
Dinner and overnight in Zagora.
Day 4 : Zagora – M’Hamid el Ghizlane – Erg Chegaga
After a morning walking tour at the sunrise around our desert camp in Zagora, we will resume our journey to M’Hamid el Ghizlane, with a stop in Tamegroute to visit this old Berber castle.
We will have lunch in M’Hamid, then from this level, the paved road ends and the real Sahara Desert starts! We will drive around 3 hours to get to the stunning Erg Chegaga desert camp, here you will have the opportunity to explore the largest desert dunes in Morocco and to enjoy an original desert experience with an absolute calm and breathtaking desert landscapes.
You will also have the chance to join a camel ride tour at the sunset over the open dunes before spending an unforgettable night in the desert bivouac camp.
Day 5 : Erg Chegaga Dunes – Agadir
You can wake up early in the morning if you want to climb the high desert dunes and watch the beautiful sunrise in the desert.
After breakfast, we travel over Foum Zguid, Iriki Lake and Taznakht to go back to Agadir where our desert trip ends.
