Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Ouarzazate – Tinghir – Erg Chebbi
We will start this fabulous desert adventure from the charming city of Ouarzazate to the large dunes of Merzouga or Erg Chebbi.
We will have several stops on our way to discover some extremely beautiful villages, such as the famous village of Tinghir where we will hire a local tour guide to visit the local agriculture fields with their antique water system, then we will see a live demonstration of producing Berber carpets in a local cooperative.
We will continue our tour through Tinjedad to have lunch and to explore the amazing Touroug palm plantations, then we will keep driving till we reach Erfoud and the large dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Upon arrival to Merzouga, we will participate to a very pleasant camel ride tour with local nomads, and we will watch a really beautiful sunset over the dunes before going back to our desert camp to have dinner and spend the night under authentic nomad tents.
Day 2 : Guided tour over Erg Chebbi (Merzouga Dunes)
You need to wake up very early if you want to watch the wonderful Sahara sunrise and to enjoy a morning camel ride before taking your breakfast and start an onsite full day-trip to Khamila village where were living the descendants of Sudan’s black slaves many years ago.
For the Birdwatchers, the famous lake of Merzouga will be a very interesting spot, because you will be amazed by the big biodiversity and you will see several kinds desert birds.
We will get back to the camp on the afternoon to have dinner and spend the second night.
Day 3 : Merzouga Dunes – Draa Valley – Zagora
You will have the chance to enjoy one more time the beautiful sunrise of the Sahara Desert before going to explore some new villages lost in this huge desert.
We will drive over the largest desert valley ‘Draa Valley’ then we will break in Tazzarine and Nkob village to have lunch before moving to Zagora.
Dinner and overnight in a hotel or guest house in Zagora.
Day 4 : Zagora Desert – Ouarzazate
On the last day of our desert tour, we will visit Zagora early in the morning with our driver before leaving this beautiful place to Ouarzazate.
On the road, we will stop in Agdz to visit the old Kasbah of Tamnoughalt, to take some pictures and to have lunch before continuing to our final destination where our adventure ends.
