Toubkal Peak trekking involve no climbing in summer conditions but the two last days involve walking on snow and wear crampons with an ice axe for security during Winter. The itinerary has been designed for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical, but involves some easy scrambling and snow slopes. The views from the summit are amazing across the mountains to Marrakech to the north, and the start of the Sahara to the south. All around are the jagged peaks of the High Atlas stretching as far as you can see in every direction.

Program of the Trek
Day 1 : Marrakech — Imlil — Tamsoult
Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1740m), famous starting point for mountaineering trips. Discover the area and hike up to Tizi-n-Mezzik mountain pass (2489m). Enjoy the magic view of Imlil area and Azzaden valley. Field picnic lunch prepared by our cook in the middle of a juniper forest. After lunch, walks down the valley of Azzaden to the summer village of Tamsoult (2250m). Overnight in the refuge or the bivouac camp.
Waking time : 5 hours
Day 2 : Tamsoult – Agelzim Mountain pass – Toubkal Base camp
Today involves a fairly stiff climb out from the Azzadene Valley to the Toubkal Refuge via Ighouliden waterfalls and over the Aguelzim Mountain pass at 3,560m. Picnic lunch will be taken with spectacular views over the Atlas Mountain Range. Overnight in the Toubkal Refuge, where you’ll likely be sharing a bunk room with other trekkers tackling Toubkal early the next morning.
Walking time : 7 hours
Day 3 : Toubkal base camp – Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech
Up early for the climb up Toubkal (4,167m) from where, clouds allowing, you’ll have wonderful views over the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert then a long way back down past the refuge and the well-worn path back to Imlil. This is a fairly long day, involving 900m up then almost 2,500m back down to Imlil! You will normally be dropped off at around 5.00pm in Marrakech
